Police have seized items from a house in Hawke's Bay, where a woman was found on fire on Christmas Day.
The unexplained incident occurred at the woman's home in Whakatu, north of Hastings, just after 7pm.
The 42 year-old is in a critical condition, with extensive burns to much of her body.
Her 49 year-old partner also has burns to his hands and arms, but is in a stable condition.
The police are waiting to speak with the couple, but have taken some items of interest from the home.
