Dinghy man still in hospital

A man remains in a stable condition in Nelson hospital after being struck in the head by a flying dinghy.

He was airlifted to Nelson hospital at about 4:45pm on Monday after a four-metre alloy craft with an outboard motor, was picked up by high winds and struck him on the head.

The incident happened on the beach at Torrent Bay in Abel Tasman National Park.
