Home support provider considers taking DHB to court

6:10 pm on 12 February 2013

The Board of Presbyterian Support Otago has been meeting to decide whether to take the Southland District Health Board to court.

In December last year, the DHB announced plans to axe Presbyterian Support Otago as a provider of home support services.

The Southland DHB has chosen three new agencies to provide home care services, including a district nursing service and Healthcare New Zealand and the contract with Presbyterian Support Otago will not be renewed.

After two months of submissions, the Presbyterian Support Otago's board says it will decide on Tuesday night whether to file for an interim injunction against the decision.
