An examination is underway of a Hamilton house at the centre of an armed police callout.
Police were called to the Glenview property just after 9am on Tuesday after a woman and a 10-year-old child were confronted by a man who allegedly threatened to shoot them.
Police say the woman and child left shortly before officers arrived at the house in Tomin Road.
They say a cordon was placed around the property and the man gave himself up following appeals by members of the Armed Offenders Squad. No shots were fired.
Police say no firearm has yet been recovered.
The man is being interviewed by police and the incident is being described as a domestic.
