Police investigating the disappearance of an Auckland woman have released new information about the case four months after she went missing.

Bin Chen, known as Cissy, was last seen at her home in Torbay on the North Shore on 5 November last year.

Police are treating the 44-year-old's disappearance as homicide and are asking for any sightings of a white 2002 Nissan Pulsar station wagon in the Bays, Albany and Rosedale areas.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said on Thursday the car may have been driven erratically around the North Shore on Guy Fawkes night (5 November) and any sightings of the car could be crucial to the investigation.

Police believe Bin Chen's body may be buried in a secluded location such as a green belt area or bush reserve.
