Police have named the man killed by a train in Palmerston North.
He was Giles Sharp, 39, of Palmerston North.
Emergency services were called to the Matthews Av station at about 6.20am on Monday. Mr Sharp had been found trapped under the train; it's believed he was hit at about 11pm on Sunday.
The train was part of the Capital Connection commuter service to Wellington.
Police are investigating.
