Christchurch police have named a cyclist who died after being hit by a car on Sunday.
Carl Peter Taylor died of severe head injuries on Monday morning in Christchurch Hospital's intensive care unit.
The 31-year-old was hit by a car in the suburb of Aranui at midday on Sunday.
Police say initial enquiries suggest Mr Taylor veered across the centre line and into the path of an oncoming car.
They are asking witnesses to the crash to come forward.
