Police ask for help locating missing Nelson man

11:29 am on 28 April 2013

Police are asking for help finding a Nelson man who has been missing in the South Island for more than a week.

Blair Steven Robinson, 41, left Nelson on 18 April driving to Akaroa via the Lewis Pass and hasn't been seen since the following day in Amberley.

He was due back in Nelson on Monday 22 April. Police say he usually keeps in contact with his family and it's unusual he hasn't.

His blue and silver Mitsubishi van was found on Thursday in Wharanui, between Blenheim and Kaikoura.

The police say Mr Robinson is 178 centimetres tall, of thin build, with balding or shaven hair.

No formal search is under way but they are interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen him or the van during the past week.
