A bomb scare at a public library in Auckland has turned out to be a false alarm.
Police say 50 people were evacuated from the library and a nearby gym when a suspicious package was found nearby.
The defence bomb disposal squad were on the scene.
Police say the package has been taken away and the CIB is investigating.
Last week the same disposal squad blew up a suspicious black box left on a bench at the site of an Auckland theatre.
