A four-year-old girl who was hit by a car reversing from an alleyway remains in a stable condition at Auckland's Starship Hospital.
Two girls, the four-year-old and a seven-year-old, were hit on Saturday afternoon in Ohope, near Whakatane.
The driver of the car, a 43-year-old man has been charged with drink driving causing injury, and will appear in court this week.
The seven-year-old has been discharged from hospital.
