A search for a West Coast man missing in King Country has ended with the discovery of his body.
Leslie Wright, 63, was last seen in Te Kuiti on Monday when he left to go on a day trip.
It was not known where he had gone until his car was found on a forestry road near Barryville on Thursday.
Police said searchers found Mr Wright's body in bush about 5km from his car and the search had covered very difficult terrain.
Family members have expressed their gratitude to searchers.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
