A man accused of driving into a police officer who tried to pull him over in West Auckland, faces two more charges.

Ioelu Peniamina, 44, is accused of being in charge of a vehicle which caused injury to Bryony Brown on 30 July while drink driving, and while incapable.

He pleaded guilty to drink driving in Henderson at a previous appearance at Waitakere District Court. He was twice the legal drink drive limit.

Police say Peniamina reversed into the officer, pinning her against her patrol car, after being ordered to pull over. She had a broken pelvis and back injuries.

He was bailed to re-appear in court next month.

The Immigration Service intends to deport him.
