Police are at a farm north of Auckland, where they say a 72-year-old man appears to have died in a quad bike accident.
Family and neighbours searched for the man for three hours after he failed to return from a ride around a 120 hectare property in Pohuehue near Warkworth.
They called the police at 5.20pm on Thursday.
Search and rescue personnel, assisted by the police helicopter, found his body in a gully near the quad bike at 5.50pm.
The Fire Service is helping to recover the body.
