Police say the death of a man in central Taranaki is not being treated as suspicious.
The body of Stephen John Murphy, 36, was found in the Patea River near Stratford three days ago by his friends.
Police in Stratford says preliminary post mortem results suggest Mr Murphy drowned.
Detective Inspector Marc Hercock says police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Murphy since Sunday so his movements can be pieced together.
