Ninth armed robbery in 3 weeks in Northland

Whangarei police have issued a photograph of a man caught on camera in the city's latest armed robbery.

They say the man threatened staff with a large knife on Wednesday night at Whau Valley Takeaways and demanded cash.

A police dog tracked him to nearby Jack Street then lost the trail.

The robbery was the ninth in just three weeks, in Northland.

Three men robbed Patels Dairy on Kamo Road on Wednesday armed with a knife and wheelbrace.

Police have made arrests for three of the robberies and they are looking for witnesses to the latest two.
