Aftershocks making Seddon folk nervous - mayor

9:45 pm on 21 September 2013

The Marlborough Mayor says the ongoing aftershocks in Seddon following the large quakes in July and August are playing on people's nerves.

About 130 people turned out to a public meeting in Seddon on Saturday afternoon, held by the Earthquake Commission and the District Council.

Mayor Alistair Sowman says problems raised included the assessment process by EQC, and dealing with insurance companies.

Mr Sowman says there are about 300 homes in Seddon, and a large percentage of those were damaged.

He says while people wait to have repairs done, the aftershocks are continuing.
