Police say they are speaking to a man at the centre of another man's death north of Whangarei on Friday morning.
The police say they're speaking to another man from the address.
The Armed Offenders Squad was sent to the address in Whananaki North Road about 10am on Friday.
The body of a 36-year old man was found at the scene.
They say information about what had happened was vague and they're treating the man's death as a potential homicide.
The cordon will remain around the address overnight Friday as police work to establish a cause of death.
