A business woman has been fined $2000 in the Christchurch District Court for fradulently obtaining $300,000 to lend to a company she was formerly involved in.
The woman, who is in her 60s and has permanent name suppression, used the money to lend to Lane Walker Rudkin, a former clothing manufacturing company, prior to its collapse in 2009.
Former LWR director Kenneth Anderson will be sentenced on Monday afternoon after pleading guilty to fraud charges involving almost $120 million.
Judge Jane Farish said she accepted the woman was a bit player in the company's collapse and there were unique and compelling reasons to continue her name suppression.
Judge Farish said she should be entitled to continue her importat business trading under her good name.
