Concern is growing for an autistic Hutt Valley man, reported missing by a care group.

Lesley Kreibel, 55, has been missing from his home in the suburb of Naenae since Sunday.

Idea Services, which cares for him, says he is prone to hiding when frightened and could be anywhere in the wider Wellington area. Spokesperson Cheryl McKane says he has no identification, food, water or money.

Mr Kreibel is of medium height (1.75 metres tall) and build, with greying hair, dark, thick eyebrows and a light olive complexion. He was last seen wearing a grey polar fleece, a white T-shirt, black shorts and shoes.

Anyone who may have seen him is asked to contact police or Idea Services.
