Whetu Teaola Hansen, 48, has not been seen since 24 November and the police are treating the case as a homicide.

Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison says the Linton property is large and there are several buildings to search.

Soldiers from nearby Linton Army Base are helping with the search.

Mr Harrison says inquiries in Manawatu and Whanganui to determine Mr Hansen's last movements are also continuing.

Police also want to hear about any sightings of the grey-primer coloured Ford ute Mr Hansen was driving the day he was last seen.

The vehicle was located in Linton.
