A person has had to have an eye surgically removed after being attacked during a home invasion in Tauranga.
Police said four masked people entered a house at Whakamarama on Sunday evening and seriously assaulted two occupants.
Both were admitted to Tauranga Hospital with serious facial injuries and one required surgery to remove an eye.
On Tuesday police used a search warrant at an address in Birch Avenue and said officers were speaking to two people about the home invasion.
