A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a man in Hamilton.
Ambulance staff tried to treat 38-year-old Sedrick Tilley Tiatia who had been attacked at a house on Winstone Avenue in Chartwell just before 2pm on Tuesday but he died at the scene.
Police say four houses and a car are being examined and it is hoped a post-mortem will take place in Auckland on Thursday.
A 19-year-old man handed himself in to Counties Manukau police in South Auckland about 7am on Wednesday and will appear in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday.
Police have searched a number of properties in Auckland in connection with the death and the scene has been examined in Hamilton.
