A man has been rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound after an incident in a South Auckland suburb.
Emergency services were called to a house on Rountree Place in Conifer Grove, Takanini, after a gunshot was heard about 2am on Tuesday.
A 49-year-old injured man had been shot in the thigh and was taken to Middlemore Hospital where he was to have surgery.
He was in a stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

Police said they were told two men entered the house and shot the victim before fleeing in blue twin cab ute with a canopy.
Investigators say it is too early to determine a motive for the shooting.
