The Fire Service says a large scrub fire that broke out near a Mighty River Power substation at Whakamaru north of Taupo has been brought under control and crews have left the scene.
Eight crews attended the blaze, which broke out just after 3pm on Thursday.
Mighty River Power said there was no danger to the company's infrastructure or staff.
Meanwhile, crews in Northland have contained a scrub fire north of Kaikohe, which burnt through five hectares of land and at one point threatened two rural properties.
