State Highway 2 north of Masterton in Wairarapa is open after a car earlier hit a bank.
A woman had to be cut out of the car by the Fire Service, and was taken to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The crash happened at 4.30pm Saturday just north of Mount Bruce and closed the road to traffic for about an hour.
The delay came after the Rimutaka Road was closed for a time earlier today following a collision involving a car and a motorcycle.
