A 25-year-old man will appear in court on Monday after a crash in Invercargill on Sunday afternoon.
He will face several charges, including drink-driving and refusing to give a blood sample to police.
Police say he was spotted driving erratically towards the city. They gave chase briefly and then abandoned the pursuit.
A short time later, the car was found crashed into another, causing damage but no injuries to the occupant.
