Auckland transport day pass delayed

12:55 pm on 23 June 2014

Technical problems with Auckland's electronic public transport ticket system are holding up the introduction of a new unlimited day pass.

Auckland Transport reports show the pass was to have been in use in February but has been delayed twice due to problems with the AT HOP electronic ticketing system.

The city has been without a readily-available public transport day pass since the roll-out of the electronic ticketing system was completed early this year.

The agency says the electronic version of the Day Pass will be useable from Wednesday next week, with fares ranging from $16 to $22 depending on the zones travelled.
