Police in Southland are reminding rural residents to lock their vehicles after a spate of thefts.
Between midnight and 5.30am on Friday three cars in rural Southland were stolen from three different addresses.
The first vehicle, a Mitsubishi Triton ute, was later found on fire just north of Woodlands and was destroyed.
Several hours later, a blue Toyota light truck and a red Ford Falcon sedan were taken from separate addresses just north of Woodlands.
Anyone with information about the thefts to contact Invercargill police.
