Motorists are being urged to avoid an area on Auckland's North Shore after a fatal road accident.
A man crashed into a power pole on Council Terrace in Northcote earlier today.
Police have asked people to avoid Council and Maritime Terrace to allow officers to examine the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
