A detailed shoreline and aerial search is being carried out for a fisherman missing since his boat overturned north of Auckland yesterday.
The man and a companion were in an inflatable dinghy that was flipped by a gust of wind near Omaha Beach.
His companion was able to make it to shore, but an extensive search found no sign of the missing man who was not wearing a lifejacket.
Police said search and rescue staff resumed the search this morning and may be joined by police divers.
They said there would be a search along the shoreline as-well-as at sea.
