WINZ office closed after shooting threat

The Work and Income office in Napier was closed this morning after a phone threat was made to shoot staff.

Police said a phone call was received just after 11am from a woman complaining she could not get an appointment today.

She threatened to shoot people in the office, police said.

Police were called and the office and other Ministry of Social Development offices in the Dalton Street building were closed and locked down.
