Pregnant teen's killer again denied parole

The man who killed a pregnant teenager and buried her in Auckland's Riverhead Forest while on bail for raping another woman has again been turned down for parole.

Hayden Joseph Taylor was serving life in prison for murdering Nicola Rankin in September 1996, and preventive detention for the sex attack.

He had been in jail for 18 years, and the Parole Board said he was still a moderate risk of general offending and a medium-to-low risk of sexual offending.

Taylor's temporary releases into the community were stopped after two incidents - one a speeding ticket and the other arguing with an police officer.

The Board said he was still not acknowledging or addressing the sexually deviant aspects of his offending.
