A man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Motueka.
The 41-year-old was detained after the Armed Offenders Squad executed a search warrant at an address in Woodlands Avenue, Motueka this morning.
He has been charged with the careless use of a firearm and carrying a firearm unlawfully in public.
The arrest relates to an incident last Saturday in which shots were fired at a house in Woodlands Avenue.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Johnston said he was confident more than one person was involved in the shooting, and inquiries were continuing.
He said police had increased patrols in the area.
