A nine-year-old boy has been killed in a go-kart crash in Northland.
Police said the child was driving the motorised go-kart at Ahipara beach about 5pm, when it rolled over.
He died at the scene before ambulance crews arrived.
Police said they were investigating on behalf of the coroner, and Victim Support was helping the boy's family.
