Police have issued a fresh appeal for help to find an alleged offender after a car chase at the weekend in Northland.
They had been seeking Robert Blewden, 37, on breach of parole and methamphetamine charges.
On Saturday they received a report of a burglary at a Waipu address, and later pursued the driver on State Highway One heading North.
After his car tyres were spiked near Paparoa the driver fled on foot and seized another car from a nearby farm, and smashed it, at speed, through a farm gate.
That vehicle was a blue Ford Ranger ute, registration DQE887, and was believed to have been stolen by Mr Blewden.
They were warning the public that Mr Blewden was dangerous and should not be approached.
