Three people have appeared in court after an attack on a man that left an iron bar lodged in his head.
Adam Armitage was attacked while sitting in his car in Katikati in Bay of Plenty in January.
He then drove to a local petrol station to ask for help, with the bar still in his head.
At the Tauranga Registrars' Court this morning, a 21-year-old man, who is charged with causing grevious bodily harm with intent, was remanded on bail.
Another 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both charged with assault, were also granted bail.
They have all been given name suppression and will appear in court again in three weeks.
