A Hamilton man has pleaded guilty to the murder of baby in the city in June last year.
Charlie Lackner, 33, appeared in the High Court in Hamilton this morning.
He has been convicted of killing eight month old Cassius Takiari.
The boy died a day after receiving head injuries at a property in Hamilton East.
Lackner, who is a forest worker, was originally charged with assault, but this was upgraded to murder after a post mortem.
He will be sentenced on 14 April.
