Truck driver charged over motorway plunge

A truck driver who survived a plunge of more than ten metres off Auckland's motorway has been charged with dangerous driving.

The truck and trailer unit plunged through a barrier at at Spaghetti Junction on the Southern Motorway.

Brendon Greig's fully-laden fertiliser truck and trailer unit crashed off Auckland's Spaghetti Junction in January and landed on another section of the motorway below.

He escaped his crumpled wreck with only a minor spinal injury and small scratches.

Mr Greig was due to appear at the Auckland District Court today but instead his lawyer asked for a remand without plea.
