A kayaker thought to be missing off Island Bay on Wellington's south coast has been found safe at home.
Police launched a search 7.30pm yesterday after a reported sighting, but the operation was suspended due to darkness falling.
Police said they were happy to learn the man had not been in any difficulties and had returned home safely.
