New information has led to the arrest of a 49-year-old Invercargill man following an assault on a woman in her home in September 2014.
The incident happened in the early hours of the morning at a house on Mill Road South.
The woman managed to escape but received injuries.
The police recently received new information which they say led to the arrest.
The man, who has name suppression, was charged with injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and burglary when he appeared in front of a registrar in the Invercargill District Court today.
He was bailed to reappear next month.
