Police in Auckland have arrested two men after a chase which involved a truck at one stage being driven the wrong way on the Southern motorway.
Officers gave chase after spotting a suspected stolen light truck on the North Shore about 2am.
The truck was chased over the Harbour Bridge and down the motorway, and at one point it tried to ram a police car.
Police say they had to close the south-bound lanes after the truck did a u-turn at Drury and began travelling north on the wrong side of the motorway.
They say the three men in the truck dumped it near Papakura and fled on foot.
Two men have been arrested and police are looking for a third.
