The police in Auckland have charged a young man with stealing the car of an elderly couple who had been beaten unconscious.
The 18-year-old, from Otahuhu, was arrested last night and will appear in court next week .
A police spokesperson said they were still looking for the person who attacked the couple outside their Onehunga home on Saturday.
They said the assault was vicious and had left them traumatised.
