A 29-year-old man has appeared in court in relation to the beating of an elderly couple outside their Onehunga home last Saturday.
When the man appeared in front of a Justice of the Peace at the Auckland District Court this morning, he faced two charges of injuring with intent, two of stealing a car and two of causing intentional damage.
The man was granted interim name suppression and remanded in custody, and is due to reappear in court on Monday.
An 18-year-old man from Otahuhu is due to appear in court next week also charged with stealing the couple's car.
