Four arrested after Chch streets shut down

Four people have been arrested after a police operation that saw several streets in the Christchurch suburb of Woolston shut down this afternoon.

Police said four the men were arrested without incident after the planned operation to locate a person of interest.

A police spokesperson said cordons were established as a precaution while Canterbury armed offenders squad members cleared a property.

The four men were charged with a variety of offences, including unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of drugs.

One will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow and the others next week.
