Rail traffic on the main trunk line into Wellington has resumed after being delayed after a freight train caught fire about 6.30am, just south of Paekakariki.
No one was hurt in the fire but the train stopped immediately near Paekakariki, blocking one track of the Kapiti line.
UPDATE: Broken down train at Paekakariki has been moved and traffic barriers are working again. Expect delays on the KPL train line. ^NA
