Police have confirmed a 23-year old man who was part of a Canterbury rugby club group has died after a crash on the Hakataramea Valley Road at the weekend.
Jarrad Blackler from Waitaki was thrown from the vehicle, along with the five other occupants.
Mr Blackler was flown to Dunedin Hospital in a critical condition and never regained consciousness.
The people in the vehicle were all members and supporters of the Kurow Rugby Club.
A 25-year old male passenger was still in a critical condition in hospital.
The others wee either in a stable condition in hospital or have been discharged.
