The Fire Service says three people and a dog were able to escape a house that was gutted by fire overnight in Mount Roskill in Auckland.
Emergency services were called to the fire on Holdsworth Avenue just after two-thirty this morning.
In an earlier incident, two crews were called to a house in Otara on Franklin Road just before midnight where a bedroom was damaged.
The fire service says it is treating that fire as suspicious.
