Police say a 47-year-old Oamaru man was found dead at a commercial premises in the town last night.
Police investigators, forensic experts and ESR scientists are now trying to piece together the man's final movements, and why he died.
His death was currently being treated as unexplained, and police were not yet releasing his name.
A scene examination is taking place, before the body is taken away and taken to Christchurch for a post mortem.
