Four fire brigades are battling a blaze at a restaurant on State Highway One in the township of Te Horo, north of Wellington.
Brigades from Otaki, Levin, Waikanae and the local Te Horo Fire Force arrived at the scene after 5pm to find the Red House Cafe ablaze.
A Fire Service spokesperson said there had been no reports of injuries or risk to life.
