Police have charged a Central Otago couple with unlawful hunting, and seized vehicles and firearms, after executing a search warrant today.
Officers from Alexandra and Omakau, along with the Armed Offenders Squad from Dunedin, searched parts of the Ida Valley earlier today.
They arrested a man and woman, aged 27 and 28, and charged them with 12 offences relating to unlawful hunting, trespass, unlawful possession of firearms and possession of cannabis.
Two 4WD drive vehicles and a quad bike have been seized, along with GPS and dog tracking collars.
The pair will appear in the Alexandra District Court next week.
